1.3. Recalculate Final Grades

The Recalculate Final Grades tool in the PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook is used to force grades to be recalculated after a change to the grading setup of your school or district's grade scales or grade calculations.

NOTE: The Recalculate Final Grades tool must be run by a teacher from the Teacher Portal. It cannot be run from the Admin Portal with the view-only mode.

  1. Open the PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook and click on the "Grading" link on the left.
  2. Click on "Traditional" under 'Grades."
  3. Click on the "Gear" icon in the upper-right corner. (Make sure the correct reporting term is selected first to the right.)
  4. Click "Recalculate Final Grades" in the menu.
  5. By default, "Traditional Final Grades" is selected. Check the box for "Standards Final Grades" to also recalculate them.
  6. Click the header for "Advanced Options."
  7. If desired, check the box for "Refresh Assignment Scores (Traditional and Standards)."
  8. Once checked, also check "Update Existing Standard Scores" to force a recalculation of all standards scores after the assignment scores have been updated.
  9. By default, only the current class is selected. Click on the "Select Classes" dropdown to choose additional classes.
  10. Once all of your selections are made, click the green "Recalculate" button at the bottom of the dialog box.
  11. After a few moments, the page will update and confirm that grades have been recalculated.
